The Canvas2Document plugin enables the seamless conversion of Obsidian canvas structures into linear documents. It processes all canvas elements, including cards, notes, images, videos, and embedded media, into a cohesive document with organized metadata headers. The plugin allows users to retain connections from the canvas using metadata-based links and supports customization of the conversion process. This tool is ideal for transforming complex layouts, such as novels or startup plans, into structured, editable documents while maintaining flexibility for adjustments.

    Binders

The Binders plugin turns folders into ordered writing projects, keeping chapters and scenes in your chosen sequence in the file explorer. Each binder offers a corkboard, an outliner with configurable columns, an editable continuous manuscript and a timeline arranged by story date. Scene details stay in note properties, while a separate note stores the binder's order. Labels, saved filters and templates support planning. Word targets, deadlines and progress history track writing, while snapshots and revision tasks sit alongside scene splitting, merging and bookwide find and replace. It imports Scrivener 3 projects and manuscript files, opens Longform projects and exports Word, EPUB, PDF or Scrivener formats. Notes remain plain Markdown when the plugin is disabled. Phone and tablet support is in public beta with limited device testing and PDF creation requires a computer.

The Basic AI Tool for Writers plugin combines book planning, drafting and revision in a modular workspace built around vault files. Longform projects organise chapters and nested subchapters, with scene cards, boards, writing goals and manuscript assembly. A compendium stores characters, places and other story entities as Markdown notes, while timelines track events and narrative branches. Smart Spaces collect notes by folder, tag or property and a configurable homepage brings together search, recent notes and writing widgets. Editing tools include typewriter mode, cursor restoration, wording variants and local snapshots. Language assistance covers grammar checks, definitions and translation. Optional AI adds contextual chat, revision and inline completion through configurable providers. Basic writing features need no API key and temporary session drafts disappear when Obsidian closes unless explicitly saved.
