Borozdov Clay

A theme from the Borozdov collection. Two faces — light Ivory, a scientific field journal on warm parchment, and dark Kiln, the same journal by the glow of the kiln. Quiet ivory surfaces, editorial serif headlines and a single clay accent that appears only when you must act.

Principles

  • Ivory, oat and clay, period. Warm paper tones replace the usual cool greys; nothing blue, nothing purple. Surfaces elevate by tone — ivory, oat, manilla — never by shadow.
  • A serif for the editorial voice. Clay Serif at weight 400 for the title, the three largest headings and pull quotes; the platform's own sans for the text and the chrome.
  • One clay accent, only when you act. Clay fills the main button, a checked task and a toggle, and, deepened, carries links and the caret. Oat washes tags and the open file.
  • A tab pulled from a stack. Buttons keep sharp top corners and an 8px radius below — the system's signature shape.

  • Callouts as release cards: one tone deeper than the page, a stone edge, 24px corners
  • Pull quotes on manilla paper, in the serif, with no rule
  • Tags as square oat labels
  • Quiet editing: no focus ring around the note, its title or form fields while you type; property names read as labels, not boxed fields
  • Text colours meet WCAG contrast on both faces
  • The phone layout keeps the same colours and shapes
  • No !important: every rule can be overridden with a CSS snippet

Installation

From the community directory: Settings → Appearance → Themes → Manage, search for Borozdov Clay, then Install and use.

By hand: download manifest.json and theme.css from the latest release into <vault>/.obsidian/themes/Borozdov Clay/, then choose Borozdov Clay under Settings → Appearance → Themes.

Font

Clay Serif is embedded in theme.css as base64 WOFF2 under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 — see fonts/OFL.txt. It is a Latin and Cyrillic subset of Source Serif Pro (© 2014–2018 Adobe Systems Incorporated), renamed because a modified copy may not use the original's Reserved Font Name. One weight, for the title, the three largest headings and pull quotes only.

По-русски. Тема из коллекции Borozdov. Два лика: светлый «Слоновая кость» — научный полевой журнал на тёплом пергаменте, и тёмный «Печь» — тот же журнал в отсветах обжиговой печи. Тихие поверхности цвета слоновой кости, редакционные заголовки с засечками (Clay Serif) и один глиняный акцент, который появляется только там, где нужно действовать. Устанавливается из каталога: Настройки → Оформление → Темы → Настроить → Borozdov Clay → Установить и применить.
