The Lock Screen plugin for Obsidian brings a new level of security and convenience to your note-taking experience. With this plugin, you can set up a lock screen that appears when you step away from your computer or when your app is minimized on mobile devices. You can also configure the delay before the lock screen kicks in, giving you time to attend to other tasks without compromising your notes' security. Additionally, the plugin allows you to show the lock screen immediately when opening your vault for the first time and via a command palette for quick access.

Obsidian Lock Screen Plugin

Adds lock screen functionality to Obsidian. This is a UI-only feature; no actual filesystem encryption is taking place.

Features

Desktop

  • Show lock screen when window loses focus (with configurable delay)

Mobile

  • Show lock screen when interaction stops (with configurable delay). This is a workaround for sensing when the app has been backgrounded until Obsidian's API can notify plugins about app backgrounding.

Both

  • Show lock screen when vault is initially opened
  • Show lock screen via command palette
