Export to Rodin

Send your Obsidian vault to Rodin to generate your intellectual fingerprint — a structured analysis of how you think, based on your notes.

How it works

  1. Install this plugin
  2. Click the fingerprint icon in the ribbon (or run "Export vault to Rodin" from the command palette)
  3. The plugin reads your markdown files and sends them to Rodin
  4. Rodin opens in your browser with your intellectual fingerprint

What Rodin extracts

  • Recurring themes — your intellectual obsessions
  • Open questions — what you're wrestling with
  • Mental models — how you frame problems
  • Intellectual DNA — who shaped your thinking
  • Blind spots — what your writing avoids
  • Core question — the single deepest question driving your thinking

Evolve an existing fingerprint

Once you have a Rodin profile, you can connect this plugin to evolve it — each export merges new themes, questions, and models into the existing fingerprint instead of creating a new profile.

  1. Visit your profile's manage page: rodin.fyi/p/[your-id]/manage
  2. Click Reveal Connection Code and copy the code
  3. In Obsidian, open Settings → Export to Rodin, paste the code, click Connect
  4. Future exports will evolve that profile; the confirmation modal tells you which one

You can disconnect any time from the same settings tab.

Privacy

Your vault text is sent to rodin.fyi for processing. It is not stored permanently — only the derived fingerprint is kept. See Rodin's privacy policy for details.

Connection codes are as sensitive as your profile's management link — anyone with the code can overwrite your fingerprint.
