GithubText Bookmarks
Bookmark arbitrary text selections in Obsidian and jump back to them.
Obsidian's built-in bookmarks mark whole files, headings, or blocks. This plugin bookmarks any part of a note — a sentence or a few paragraphs — and finds it again with one click.
Usage
- Select text, then run Bookmark selection from the command palette, or right-click and choose Bookmark text.
- Open the panel from the ribbon icon or the Open text bookmarks command.
- Type in the search box to filter by title, text, file name, or group.
- Click a bookmark to open its file and highlight the text.
- Right-click a bookmark to Rename, Set group…, or Delete it.
If the text has moved since it was bookmarked, the plugin finds the nearest matching occurrence. If it can't be found, it tells you the text is missing.
Notes
- Desktop only.
- All data is stored locally in the plugin's
data.json. No network requests.
