Privacy-first local vault connection index with optional Gemini embeddings and a focused research map for Obsidian.
Research Brain now discovers the core ecosystem API from the actual Research AI plugin instance, so the optional host connection works in Obsidian as installed. It also re-registers after the host rebuilds its in-memory extension registry.
Ecosystem context now respects the host’s exact character and item budgets, including zero. Note labels and paths are withheld unless note metadata permission is granted, and background context requests no longer replace the map currently visible in the Brain view. A no-match context request no longer falls back to unrelated notes.
The standalone Research Brain map remains available locally. When connected to a compatible Research AI host, only the data classes you grant can be contributed. A disabled Brain contributes nothing, and host reloads no longer require manually reloading Brain to restore the connection.
Release assets are exactly main.js, manifest.json, and styles.css.
