Processing options
Wikilinks
Converts matching concept references into Obsidian wikilinks.
Master page
Creates or updates a master page containing links to every note where the concept appears.
References can point directly to:
- headings;
- stable block references.
Context excerpts are included when available.
Hashtag
Optionally adds a normalized hashtag to matching notes.
Global concept index
Concept Indexer maintains a compact global index linking processed concepts to their master pages.
Default file:
Concept Index.md
Default master folder:
Concept Indexer/
Both can be changed in the plugin settings.
AI-friendly workflow
Concept Indexer can also help prepare your vault for later AI-assisted analysis.
By creating master pages and global concept indexes, it groups references to the same topic in a predictable structure. This allows AI tools, local models, scripts, or external processing pipelines to work from curated thematic entry points instead of repeatedly scanning the entire vault.
In large vaults, this can reduce the amount of content that needs to be processed and make topic-based analysis more efficient, focused, and reproducible.
Settings
You can configure:
- interface language;

- global index filename;

Privacy
Concept Indexer works locally inside your Obsidian vault.
It does not use:
- AI services;
- external APIs;
- cloud processing;
- telemetry.
